THAT WHICH ROARS ... [Beasts of the Imagination]

GOOD MORNING all you animal lovers and welcome to September.  With the days getting shorter and the heat starting to subside, it is definitely time for something "THAT ROARS!!!"


AND have I got a roaring exhibit for you.  The Innovative Arts team has assembled a group of super creative artists who have focused on creating imaginary beasts in a variety of media.

Take a look at Susan Roecker's image of a spirochete ... not a critter you would want to run into on a New York subway train. Her images are captured in acrylic paint on canvas and she has let them run wild in her current series of creatures with very sharp teeeeeth.  


MARK YOUR CALENDARS:  The exhibit will be on view at their Peekskill location [1 South Division Street] from Sept. 25 thru Nov. 21, 2010, Fridays through Sundays, 12:00 noon to 6:00 pm and by appointment.  The opening reception is Saturday, Sept. 25 from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. All animal lovers welcome!!!


For those of you who agree that there is great humor in the people/animal connection, I strongly recommend viewing Elliott Erwitt's Dogs photographs.  A great viewing and one that will definitely make you smile.


Lots more to report very soon and remember to keep your paws tidy and look to the trees for unusual creatures that may be lurking ... note our two-eyed jawbreaker seen above while waiting for its next victim.  No telling what you may run into next.
